Age-Graded

Masters-athletics-style: % of theoretical AG best

Age-Graded is the only cross-AG comparable system. For each (race, AG), we estimate a theoretical-best finish time from a rolling reference (3-yr median of AG-winner times across races of that distance class, course-adjusted). An athlete's age-grade is theoretical-best ÷ their finish time × 100. 100 means they ran the AG-best for that race; pros land north of 95; the strongest AG athletes hover 70–90.

THE FORMULA

age_grade = theoretical_best_seconds ÷ finish_seconds × 100
